Professor Mathis Heller Visits Shandong Jiaotong University
(Oct. 17, Shandong) Professor Mathis Heller, DeTao Master of Automotive & Industrial Design, visited Shandong Jiaotong University in Jinan, Shandong Province on Oct. 17. As he arrived at the campus, Professor Yu Mingjin, Dean of Automotive Engineering College, escorted him around Automobile Museum and Transport Vehicle Examination & Diagnosis and Maintenance Technology Lab. He also had a discussion with the faculty of the college on the undergraduate curriculum design of automobile design major and the integration of automotive appearance design and mechanical engineering.
In the afternoon, Professor Heller delivered a lecture The Impact of Design in the library lecture hall. He was impressed by what he saw there: The auditorium was fully packed and some students were standing behind the back row and at the door. Professor Yu presented and introduced Professor Heller before the lecture. Professor Heller began with a brief introduction of his design career and provided his insights into the future of automotive design, the past and present of electric car both in China and in the rest of the world, and solutions to future city transportation. His presentation was well-received among the students.
Shandong Jiaotong University is located in Jinan, Shandong Province, a city known for its beautiful spring. The university is among the eight universities administered by China’s Ministry of Transport. The visit by Professor Heller has intensified the understanding between each other. They had in-depth consultation about the potential modes of cooperation. This heralded the cooperation between DeTao Master Studio of Professor Heller and Shandong Jiaotong University.
