Program Introduction

Performance (Musical Theater Performance) is taught jointly by international teaching team leading by Professor Li Dun and teachers in SIVA. By drawing and using teaching experience of world-known universities, this major explores a creative new path to cultivate musical talents by collaboration between schools and enterprises, combination of culture and education, collaborative innovation.

Training Goals

This major is aiming to cultivate the comprehensive stage performance ability with Musical Theater Performance as the main line. We will teach students the singing ability of any style such as popular, national and bel canto, and performance skill of drama, movie, modern drama and stage play. Thus becoming professional musical actor and producers who are capable of meeting the requirement of the fast-growing musical market in China.

Curriculum Description

 

 The teaching mode used by musical major is study+ practice, which means all courses will be taught by the new mode of learning expertise and doing practice at the same time. This major is aiming to break the traditional class teaching mode widely used domestically and improve music accomplishment and acting skills of students, thus student with musical talents can become comprehensive talents in musical field in China and the whole world when graduated.

 

Career Prospective

 

 After graduation, students can not only get the chance to join the musical play held by Li Dun studio, but also do music production and musicals writing in TV station, song and dance theater, TV drama center, propaganda department, cultural and educational institutions, teaching in colleges or studying for a master’s degree.

 

Selection of students

Basic skill in Musical Theater Performance and ability in analyzing music and understanding performance is necessary, and we aim to find students’ acting ability and aptitude for creation.
