Program Introduction
Spanish Classical Guitar, a program aims to permit all the students to have a full acknowledgement of the guitar as a musical instrument：Technique, musical interpretation, repertoire, teaching methods, etc. The students should gain the capacity of performing in professional art perform groups and art colleges, professional teaching ability and the preliminary scientific research ability.
This program is designed to make sure that students could master the techniques and finally realize their musical accomplishment in a progressive way. The professor will always guide every student and help them to achieve their personal best competence, value,musicality and professionalism.
Main courses: Art Introduction, Music History, Elementary theory of Music and solfege, Chinese and Foreign music video appreciation, Specialized courses in guitar playing, sight-reading, etc.
Training Goals
The aim is to develop the innate and personal faculties of the students on the basic knowledge and control of guitar techniques, and also to help them to carry out a good and expressive interpretation of the music.
Curriculum Description
Adopting the teaching methods from Spain, teacher will give lessons to student one by one, differing the guidance according individual situations to maximize the excavation students potential.
Besides daily courses, the teaching team will make full use of resources from interpersonal and local resources to actively guide the students to take part in the concerts, exhibitions and performances of music industry and create opportunities to communicate with outstanding industry insiders.

Prof. Josep Henriquez is one of the world-renowned masters of Spanish classical guitar. He is not only a great musician, educator and guitar performer, but also a guitar maker with superb skills. He has been on the world stage for more than 40 years. He is also the dean of the Guitar Department in the Conservatory of music in Granollers, Barcelona. As a guitarist, he is famous for his unique music character and playing skills in the world. He has been to more than 120 countries all over the world. He is so popular that he holds the concerts and master classes all the year round in Europe, South America, Africa, and Israel, Turkey, Russia, Canada, the United States, China, Indonesia and the Philippines etc. He is also in great demand as a judge for many international guitar competitions, which has helped him win quite amount of enthusiasts. As an educator, he inherits the academism of Spanish guitar. As the first formal professor teaching Spanish classical guitar in China in 1992, he was invited by the Spanish Government to create “Aula de Guitar Andres Segovia” at the Central Conservatory of music in Beijing, which has opened the door of classical guitar in China. So far, many Chinese outstanding guitarists and professors, for example, Wang Zhen, Li Huizhe, Xu Bao, have been taught by him. Thus, Prof. Josep Henriquez has made great contribution to the promotion of guitar art in China. As a guitar maker, he not only adopts the structure and the making process of the traditional Spanish guitar, but also breaks through the traditional modelling, creates his own design outside and inside the guitar, which has provided great convenience for playing the high treble area.
